Chicago Typewriter

Another title that has been on my list for too long. In the first two episodes it gets gripping. The two writers & a girl who is in their lives then & now. The fan base, the frency, the signing event, the secretary handling it all.. felt like the set of ‘I am okay..’ all over again.

Yoo Ah-in never ceases to surprise you. I have been watching him closely from ‘ Secret affair’. I had not liked the theme but he was phenomenal. Being younger to his partner & she also being his mentor did not deter him from expressing his feelings. His honesty shines through. There it was the piano keys here he has his Pc. Later when he gets the typewriter he works on those keys. His craziness, love for his work is all the same.

He is partnered with Im Soo-jung his wide eyed fan, first & forever kind. She is working on various part-time jobs & yet finds time to read his work. Ten years ago, when he was a nobody she had started her hero worship. From delivering a package at his residence, she gets more & more involved with him. Inspite of his disbelief, events unfold in a unexpected way & unwillingly he has to take her help.

Both have gone through hard times. He had a very bad experience ten years ago that he is yet to share. But ‘back stabbing’ & losing dear ones hints at family giving him a hard time. His father has brought him to be a part of the family but the mother cannot accept that he is not her child & is bent upon bringing misery to his life. Being a successful writer, he is thorn in her flesh.

The magic of the ‘Chicago Typewriter’ is yet to be seen. The three have been re-incarnated together again. It is evident from the flashes they have . The connecting the dots is to begin.
