An interesting take on a family in the hard times. The wife has experienced ‘Choking’ at a talent search & has not been out of it. Today she is working in a bank as cashier, but when there is a reference to singing even today does not feel comfortable. The memory is painful even today.
Her husband is in search of work & people around have been teasing him for being the wife. But the house is in a mess & she has to work a lot more again at home. A school going kid on top, reading the tiffins, cleaning, exhaustion leads to the strain in their relationship. On the top floor lives a secretary to a minister & is rarely in. But the rest of the tenants have good relations. A wedding in the building at Amruta Subhash’s house is a matter of festivities for all. Just then the demonetisation takes place & Rs 500, Rs1000 lose their value.
The protagonist, Saiyami Kher, the banker has recently discovered that from her sink tubing comes an outflow at 3 am when bundles of cash wrapped in plastic flow out. She is happy with the money when the changed situation is going to affect her. The lack of money, the workless husband, growing needs the atmosphere is so real. Without going over board the pathos is commendable. A must watch.
Saiyami Kher, Roshan Mathew, Amruta Subhash, Tushar Dalvi, Upendra Limaye & others have contributed fully & the story gels together nicely.
