Descendents of the sun

Finished watching the show & am sure why people liked it. It has a good end. The soldier is assumed to be killed in a mission ,returns back safe & sound. He keeps his promise. Without making it melodramatic & going for a sad end it was just appropriate. The Song couple is so good it is difficult to keep your eyes off them.

The other pair has to go through the test of time, their feelings, blessings of the not-so -happy father. If we start believing his stand we do injustice to the lovely pair. They withstand staying away, the transfers & the missions that crop up suddenly. But both being in army is a plus.

Jin Goo was in ‘Night Light’ where he had to forget his first love & concentrate on the family business. Then he is working closely with Uee but even that doesn’t work out. She is focused on learning the trade & he is not able to like anyone after his first love! But now in the ‘Descendents..’ he has a full fleshed out role that was much appreciated by the audience. Here we see him in complex situations & working in perfect sync with Song Joong-ki. Actually the events are put in motion because he loses his pocket to a pick-pocket.

Kim ji won also has a better role than ‘Heirs’, which was entirely a Min ho- Shin hye drama where the others had only a secondary role. Here she has equal footage along with Song Hye-kyo. They are not on good terms but because their boyfriends are always together they are thrown together & develop a friendship. When both are assumed to be dead in a mission the girls have only each other to be consoled. Both being doctors helps.

It is a good drama. Why my friends had been recommending it I know now!
