Sushant

His name means very quiet. Here I am looking for the word..Peace! An individual who catapulted into the world of the small screen & made it big on the silver screen had no right to make such an exit. An age when life is looking up & so much yet to be done! All our hopes pinned on.

With the strains of the titles in ‘Pavitra Rishta’ in 2008, I fail to see why & how 12 years have gone by, he was there with Ankita Lokhande ,who looked wonderful with her minimum makeup, living in a chawl & looking very inch the mechanic. What I remember is his face,yes but more prominently his eyes.Small, keen,honest & with thick lashes. He visits the Shiv temple with her matching every step. Just beyond the bar that separates the gents & the ladies. Then again when he is looking through the horns of the Nandi she catches a glimpse of her. Then we are waiting for them to meet!

She is involved in some decorations when she showers petals from the plate she is holding. We see him smile first & looking at her. The yellow marigold petals cascading on him. With the help of Godse Kaka he manages to marry her. Her mother wants an engineer for her daughter, but settles for a mechanic. Savita prabhune at her best being a tough mother.

Usha Nadkarni, the mother-in-law that Ankita faces, is also not so much fond of this son. She likes the younger one, Sandeep. But Sushant takes his wife’s side & tries to protect her. The scene where they travel by local, she goes for the ladies bogie & he is in the next one,visible through the grill that separates them. Both were often asked about their relationship. To which their answer was,”Pavitra Rishta !”

They were in a serious relationship but when he went to the big screen, something went wrong & they broke up. But as they say they never looked back. Both were successful in their work. From his academic excellence to his films he never failed. With films like’ MS Dhoni: untold story’ or his recent ‘Kedarnath’ he had everything in life that he wished.

The recent demise of his manager may have been a shock that he couldn’t protect her. But considering the advice he gave on screen in “Chichore” he wasn’t one to take such a step. What went wrong? He had a bunch of good friends, family, fame that anyone will envy!

After Guru Dutt it has been that feeling that can’t be shaken off. The mystery still remains. Be it Sulli or Sushant how are we going to solve this? Is it depression, no work, some misunderstanding, break up …but nothing is worth taking one’s life! Pratyusha or Jiah Khan how many more ? Deepika was brave enough to talk about her depression but working it off will require efforts.

It is never a solution ,so to talk & confront it is necessary. Not only in the showbiz but with every walk of life we meet such people. Measures to rule it out is important. The question is where to begin?
