Another show written by Kim Eun-sook. I have already completed the hat trick with her shows, but this is back to back with “Guardian: The lonely God” & “King: the eternal Monarch”. With Gong Yoo & Lee Min ho, now the third heart throb of the K dramas…Song Joong -ki. The lead pair got the best asian couple for the show. It is also my first viewing of The Song couple!
The dal.comm cafe is common in all the three shows. In ‘Guardian’ Ms Sunny owns it, in “KING..” Na-ri owns it & in the’ Descendents..’ they meet there to part ways. This is the fastest & the quickest meet & part within two episodes. He is a soldier & she is a surgeon. Both are at war. One actually, the other racing to save people.
They meet at the hospital where she is working. It is love at first sight for him, but he respects her decision to not meet at the end of the second episode. First it starts with a misunderstanding as his buddy loses his phone to a pickpocket. When he establishes his identity, they meet on the rooftop where he is airlifted. The helicopter descends & he takes her leave. Just when they could have been on the first date it gets spoilt by his duty.
Further more due to his special task force he cannot reveal the type of work he does for security reasons. She has a very busy schedule. She is practically living in the OT. When she has free time she meets with a stranger who has no time for her! The next time they meet, he takes her home from the hospital. She washes her hair & has their food delivered. They go for a movie where he gets called & he rushes out.
So finally at the coffee shop she decides to not meet again but they don’t forget each other. Then the chairman asks her out. He has a direct,creepy way of declaring his intentions, to which she hits him & leaves. He then sends her to a remote medical posting. She is again confronted by the same soldiers. In fact her team is welcomed by a dashing Joong-ki in shades! He ignores her & helps them to reach the base.
Fast paced & entertaining.
