Shimla Mirchi

The romantic story from Shimla. Rakul preet singh is from Shimla & Rajkumar Roa’s family comes there for a vacation. But he watches Rakul running on the Mall street towards her cafe & decides that she is the one for him. He has a problem with proposing. He just freezes up. So he asks his family to go back to Delhi & he stays to become an employee at her cafe.

The song later tells the tale. Everybody knows that he loves her except for her! How fitting. He writes a letter as he knows he will not be able to speak. She gets the letter where your admirer is written. She addresses the letter to her mother hoping to elevate her mood. Hema Malini as her mother is fit,fine & a mother ! She discovers the boy is an employee & starts perking up. Her over enthusiasm makes her call Rakul’s daddy, none other than Kanwaljeet Singh. He has a younger girl in his life & wants divorce. The scene of confrontation should have been steeler but falls flat!

With excellent actors & a workable story it lacks the zing! Rajkumar Rao is his usual self. But cannot lift the script alone. It has it’s moments but very few. A last scene with Dharmendra brought in old memories. A passable film. Happy viewing!
