Kim Mi Kyung is the mother! She was the mother of Park Min young in ‘Her Private Life’ which I was focusing on yes, Kim Jae Wook & Park Min Young but when I went to another show & yet another I met her again & again. Marveling at her capacity to blend in her various roles this is just a post script if any!
In ‘Healer” she is Ms J who never appears in front of her clients or employees. A total computer geek, sitting in her chair, wearing outrageous outfits & knitinging furiously. Her language would burn ears! Only once when she meets Healer’s master does she wears party clothes complete with a hat! In the final sequence she appears with her team. Not the length of her role but the impact is there for all to see.
In “Heirs” she is the mute mother of Shin hye. Entire story revolves around the main pair.. Lee min ho & Park Shin hye, but when she is helping Min ho’s mother or talking to Shin hye, she is just there. Furiously writing in her notebook & doing her duties to perfection.
In “Another Miss oh” she is again Seo hyun jin’s mother who scolds her for calling off her wedding at the eleventh hour. She is worried about what her relatives might say. A typical mother! Then worries when the daughter falls for Eric, who lives next door & that unnerves her. When she packs food she advises Seo to share with him as he is the neighbour after all!
In “Secret Garden ‘ & in “Saimdang” she is polished, modern & has beautiful costumes to wear, with a string of pearls. The owner of the Art gallery demanded her look & she has done it with finesse.
I yet have to see many of her roles, the sampling is proof enough! So that is all for today. Happy viewing!
