Initially I was confusing it with some other movie. With so many half movies watched it is easy to confuse one with the other! Also many times the movie has begun & you watch it from wherever it is. So you can leave it halfway & feel miserable that you have missed the start.
This movie has Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, Robert De Niro among the others. The story is simple. Pat is sent to a mental health facility in Baltimore for attacking his wife’s lover. After 8 months he comes home. He is reading a Hemingway book which he doesn’t like & throws it through the window, The window glass breaks. He has bipolar behavioural disorder.
His doctor, Dr Patel (Anupam Kher) advices some medicines & gives therapy. Pat is hung up on his wife, Nikki. He thinks she will come back. He is invited for dinner at his friend’s house where he meets Tiffany. She has lost her husband & is in a similar state. From the word go Jennifer has your eyes. She pain, hurt, her language, movements all talk of her mind that is hurting within.
They form a pair for the dance competition & she gives his letter to his wife in return. Due to the restraining order he has very little access. His father has denied him a cell phone. As he gets exhausted with the practice & his mind starts working. Coming out of a facility & trying to be a normal person is a task. The events that follow are predictable but the taking is nice. Worth watching. Happy watching!
