Trust

Trying to find the similarities between the two dramas that I watched, I found a common thread of ..Trust!’Put your head on my shoulder’ has a delicate tale of the soon to be graduates. Even if you are tired, you don’t lean on or put your head on any shoulder for sure. The trust is what is important. The lead pair is living in the same flat that he owns. The mothers wish something more should happen. But aren’t choices important in life?

What the parents wished becomes true, they fall for eachother. But the journey is not simple. When she goes to work for the ad of the fruit juice, she is tired & does put her head on his shoulder! But for this to happen they go through many ups & downs. Most of them are predictable. He goes off to Germany for 6 months & both know that they can’t live without each other. By then the proposal of marriage is in the air. She goes to meet him there & they get married in the church.

The final shot shows a child sitting on the sofa & asking for a glass of fruit juice! The tune when they see each other is the same as the earlier one ‘A little thing…’. ‘Can you feel my heart….’as it moves away from a Hindi popular song, ‘Aaja aai bahar..’ it is so amusing.

In ‘Memories of Alhambra’ it feels we are actually playing the game. As people around him start disappearing it gets more complicated. Some die & we know the end is near. She must have cried oceans & waited. But she is the breeze of fresh air in the chaos. As he reaches the church & says this is the end of the story we expect the storyteller to be fit & fine! but there is no closure. I normally like it packed & shipped with no loose ends. He is seen saying,’Don’t trust me. I am not a decent man (Divorced once, on the verge of another & a murder suspect!) But of course our Shin hye is head over heels & there is no stopping her.

The belief, the trust & the comfort we find in company cannot be duplicated. It has no scientific base but a heartfelt feeling only! Trying to be trustworthy in a world of flux. Happy viewing!
