It said romantic film but it is a sad story with Hun Bin & Lee Yeon hee. When she comes to Seoul, she tells him she is pregnant & I actually believed her! I then thought the story must be in flash back or he has completely forgotten her. She had been bluffing!
She is an orphan & comes to check if he remembers her from their childhood. She has an ailment of heart & cannot survive. He has inherited from his grandfather & the clause makes it compulsory for him to graduate. So he comes down to Gangwon. He meets her again in his class. He tells her her nails are black, dirty ( she works at a petrol pump) she dyes her nails with flower scent. By the time he knows, he loves her all is lost. He decides to spend time with her. She paints his nails. I loved the continuity, when she collapses he steadies her. His nails are painted! Once she ties his hair in two bunches with rubber bands & takes photo ( Hyun bin with hair tied!) In ‘Something in the rain’ Jung Hae in’s hair is tied by Son ye ,does he look cute !
It is a short, sweet, sad film.At the end of it we feel the loss. He has money, the degree but not the company he wishes! He is building the large house of her dreams with lot of windows.
I saw a surprisingly good movie with Anupam Kher, “One Day”. He is a retired judge & starts finding people who he could not catch because he had to follow rules & give the verdict. The doctor couple, the hotel owner, the bomb planter.. he knows the law! A daring crime branch officer, Laxmi Rathi played to the hilt by Esha Gupta. A good movie to watch.
In the ‘Inheritors’ Park shin hye resides in Min ho’s place & in the morning go to her sister’s working place but she is not there. Instead meet her friend who is also searching her. They run from the chasing goons & land up in a movie theatre. He asks why he likes a girl who he met yesterday.
She goes in his house to pick her luggage & meets his fiance. She ends up with him, he is on his way to meet his brother. She finds his brother has no love for him. On returning back the car breaks down. They stay in a motel. In the morning they reach home. Her friend has got the message & there to get her. Again all four meet in the pan cake shop. Rachel & Eun sang leave for Korea by the same flight.
Rachel is saying goodbye when Eun sang comes with her luggage. Min ho asks her for her number that she declines. Choi young receives Rachel, Eun sang finds her mother has shifted to the ‘Kims’. She joins her mother in the household duties. Last seen Min ho also arrives in Korea & meets his parents at home.
Every episode has something interesting happening & keeps you guessing. A good drama without blood shed & shouting, scheming. The power play may come later.
In the sunday supplement, a writer wrote that she has two lives going. One what I write, I go on thinking about it & the other that you see me living like others! Very true. The moment I see something I am thinking of the right words to put it across! The usual thoughts have become concrete while writing them. sometimes they don’t come out as I wish but mostly they do have a pattern of their own!
