Asha Bhonsle one of my favourite singers at her best. The film, ‘Imandaar’ in the 80s with Sanjay Dutt & Farah. The song has ‘dard’ that is so uncommon today. It remains one of my all time favourites. ‘Aur is dil mein kya rakha hai, tera hi pyar chupa rakha hai.. chir ke dekhe dil mera to tera hi dard chupa rakha hai…’
Pyar ke afsane sune the logo se, pyar kya hota hai tune samzaya…mila dil tuzse to khab dekhe aise…junoon jane kaisa jawan dil pe chaya…dil mein aaisa dard otha dil ho gaya diwana… Diwano ne is duniya mein dard ka naam dava rakha hain… the lyrics are woven around dil, duniya, diwana, dard, dava…have a unique impact on the listener.
Nigaho mein meri yeh surat hain teri, surat yeh teri inayat hai meri… dhadakte seene mein mohabat hai teri…mohabat hai teri … ibadat hai meri, tere siva kuch yaad nahi hai….tu he tu dil mein, dil ne pyar ki puja ki hai…pyar ka naam khuda rakha hai… aur is dil mein kya rakha hai…tera hi pyar chupa rakha hai’
The beauty of the song is it has remained in spite of the non success of the film. The picturisation does not help & yet it maintains to stand alone. A forgettable film with a memorable song! The lyrics are so delicate that they build a sketch on their own. The love portrayed then becomes the masterpiece. Love compared to puja , let those who fall in love understand this sentiment. The feeling makes you great…aap khuda bane… but the lust, possession & the greed makes it filthy, dirty.
Salute to the beautiful feeling called ..love. Happy loving!
