I am watching ‘Legend of the blue sea’ & again with Lee Min ho & Jun Ji-hyun. She is so fresh & spontaneous that again I am in awe. I started writing after uploading the picture because I may lose it to the gallery & not find it again! It is so her! Enjoying her ride in the mart in a cart.
I loved her in her show’My love from the star’ & watched her again in ‘My Sassy girl’. I chanced upon this show as I had been ignoring for days. I was pleasantly surprised to see her again & so soon.The parallel worlds or the reincarnation that occurs could have formed two separate stories. The modern world has her wondering about her surroundings. The cart felt like her apt vehicle. She eats ramen as if she has to catch a bus or someone might snatch it from her. The poster shows her sitting next to Min ho in a dress that would be good for a child! She carries off her clothes with such grace. Her upheavelled hair demand a treatment yet she manages to look good than the rest!
Her strength is something out of this world & so is her innocence. That makes their scenes so pure so real. Her ability to make friends is just great. The street dweller, the school kid & Min ho’s mother all are her friends! She has a birthday because she has to treat her friends. What does she want for a present? Mackerel ! why ? She loves to eat it. She is a mermaid & looks at the fishes in the shop. Scolds them, why did they get caught!
We start panicking as the wicked man follows her. But merely holds his hand & erases his memory. She is the best when Min ho informs her that he will move. Where? This is a rental on two years lease. House is not yours? no. Only the furniture & my things. Ok, so he wants my help to move the furniture! Why will anyone want his girlfriend to move furniture!
When he finally meets his mother after so many years, She is the one who is overjoyed. Outside Min ho’s mother asks him if she is his girlfriend & he actually is flustered! (The arrogant gent from BOF, smiling awkwardly & nodding his head was something!) Did I love it! His mother is working at other people’s home. Cooking, cleaning doing all the work but remains dignified through out. What I did not like is the reason why she leaves her house for the other woman & her own child behind. She should have never left. Or she should have left with her child. How can you expect another woman to love your child the way you do?
The complex family makes Jun ji come in as the breeze among all the happenings. She wears a yellow & a red slipper. She chooses clothes from what people have left on the streets & manages to look good. She mixes brands & yet stands apart. When she goes to her friend’s function in school, she knows how to clean up. With her clothes she stands out! Min ho is always warning her against wearing short dresses, so she chooses ones that he will not object to. He can hear her thoughts & that is simply entertaining.
Rebirth or reincarnation, karma, we believe in all these concepts. We have been trained to believe them right from our childhood. It makes it easy to follow the train of thoughts. Once the writer’s way is understood it is simple. Jun ji has worked in good projects & with well known people. She is also married to a person outside the industry & has two children. She knew her husband for years but his recent illness brought them together. Her story is really filmy! To take the decisions at the right time & be happy. She has done that. I appreciate her for all that she has done & will do in future.
