Chanchal Sheetal Nirmal…

This song from ‘Satyam, Shivam, Sundaram’ bestows many adjectives to the lady love & when she becomes the wife she is ignored. The reason.. half of her face is scared. She has a beautiful voice, she is beautiful (but for her face ) & she is also what he has always dreamt about ! The beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder! how true. If physical appearance is so important where would the ordinary go?

‘Gori ho kaali ho ya nakharewali ho kaisi bhi dulhan dila do..’ from ‘Bibi O bibi’ has desperation. What about you? Not everyone has the perfect body. Aren’t we going to judge an individual according to his thoughts, appreciate the good soul? when is this going to happen? We talk of inner beauty but in practice what we see is so superficial!

‘Roop rang par marta aaya sadiyo se ye zamana, main maan ki sundarta dekhu pyaar ka main deewana’ very rarely do we find such people! But next lines are the give away. ‘Tumhara pyar chahiye mujhe jeene ke liye… mere siva tum aur kisi ko dil mein na aane dogi, phulon ki toh baat hi kya hai kaanto pe saath chalogi !’ isn’t it too much! Her feelings are not even taken into consideration.

‘Toofan mein baho ki patvar chahiye’… but I simply love this song. The most improbable ones are just lovely. ‘Mujko har ghadi didar chahiye’ you like .fine. what about her? This song from ‘Manokamna” is excellent. ‘Din raat wafa ka ikraar chahiye’ now this is too much to ask for!

‘Yeh hume hai yakin Bewafa woh nahi, phir vajah kya hui intezaar ki’…from “Sharabi’ but that is Amitabh! He does everything in style. A commercial hit & catering to the masses but has many soft moments that make it a good film.’Koshish karni chahiye Meenaji, vaada nahi. Vaade aksar toot jate hai, koshish kamyab hoti hai.’ Dialogues remain with you forever.

‘Chandan sa badan chanchal chitwan….’ from ‘Saraswati chandra” an excellent film. If he has an image of her, he is yet unable to recognise her when he meets her. An age where there was no exchange of photos but we have certain vibes from a person. A woman having a sixth sense is an asset, then recognising a no should be developed by a man! When he visits their house he meets her sister & thinks she is the one! How? I never digested it.

The signals are so subtle but one has to develop the senses. Aren’t you aware of a shift in the feelings. You may shrug it off but the second time you are sure! A very silent person suddenly going on stage & singing…’Koi unse keh de hame bhool jaye… aansu bhari hai yeh jeevan ki rahe…’ I don’t think it is rocket science. To recognise & to move away or grab the chance as the situation may be.

Films help you but also take you to heights where your expectations are something else than the reality. But the training of the senses is done & that helps. Imagination helps to visualise many scenarios & that can buy time to respond. Situations in everyone’s life are bound to be different & yet same. We need to think & act. So signing off here. Happy thinking!
