One of the messiest films on screen is ‘Kramer Vs Kramer’. It is a 1979 film when we had to wait for English movies to hit our theaters. The name was interesting. I finally got to see it when I had children of my own. When in a relationship things go wrong, moving on or quitting it one of the easiest option but to revive it & move ahead is difficult. In such cases the children are affected the most.
Dustin Hoffman & Meryl Streep, two of the most talented actors have brought it to life & how! Their tussle brings in all sorts of problems for their son, who wants both his parents. In “Kaash” Jacky Shroff & Dimple Kapadia have a tiff & separate. In an accident they lose their son. They have only each other to look up to. Regretting then is too late.
The Song & Song couple in the Korean dramas is supposed to be the best in Asia. They were but then decided to part ways.Their drama ‘Descendants of the sun’ is slated to have a sequel with the top pair of today, Hyun bin & Son ye. It must not have been easy for sure. The other couple, from “Blood” had a much speculated divorce. Ahn Jae hyun, who had professed his love for his costar in front of all present on the sets. Ku Hye -sun who is not new to the industry & has hits like ‘BOF’ under her belt. Both being in the same industry & yet could not handle the pressures of daily routine.
I remember Priya Tendulkar working with her husband, Karan Razdan on a TV show. They were a pair counselling others to rethink their decision about divorce. They separated after the show. Shashank Ketkar & Tejashree Pradhan could not remain together after their hit show on TV. It is not about working in the same field or not being good friends but more to it when people decide to separate. Many examples can be quoted here.
Many stars then choose to remain single. but that is just running away from the situation. A close relationship is bound to be extremely painful to break. but things can definitely be thought over & corrected. Such glitches can foster the bond & make it more strong. How have marriages lasted for years in any society? Strong belief in the system & will to see it through. It will only last through thick & thin if efforts are made.
Do we like everything about our family, friends, siblings ? But we make it work, we compromise, let go & work things out. Why can it be this simple? Why does the ego rule supreme? If the good old days advocated to be obedient, tolerant & forgiving was it the right answer then? The stability of the institution depends on the solid foundation of trust. So don’t we take people on face value? Something has gone wrong somewhere that’s for sure. But needs correction immediately. This ‘use & throw’ culture cannot give bonds that are for the lifetime! Happy Thinking!
