Loveyatri : A journey of love

A film that revolves around ‘Garba’. It begins in Baroda. Featuring two new faces Warina Hussain & Aayush Sharma. It’s Navratri, when they meet & fall in love with each other. He teaches Garba to small kids & she is an NRI visiting enroute London. It is a trip in pursuit of love. So love yatri.

Her father tries to dissuade him & shows the gap between them. He is disheartened. When his mama, Mr Ram Kapoor, tells him to cheer up. They visit many Tourist agents. Finally Mamaji has an idea. He asks him to join his group which is leaving for London. They have been invited for Garba.

He meets her in London. She is with her friends, along with Chris, her father had hinted him to be her boyfriend. Again he gets discouraged. But Mamaji asks him to confront Manisha & to get it confirmed. By then her father, Ronit Roy meets him & puts him behind bars. Here he meets the pair of police officers… Arbaz Khan & Sohail Khan, remember their cameo in ‘Jaane tu ya Jaane na’ but this one is shorter.

On the trip to find the love…too many have this plot. Today, ‘Made of honour’ when finally he finds courage to stop her from marrying someone else. In “Dil hai ke manta nahin” Aamir knows she is running away from home, in Mumbai to Bangalore for love & yet he doesn’t lose hope. Anupam Kher as Pooja Bhat’s father had a beautiful line, ‘main duniya ka pehla baap hun, jo apni hi beti ko bagne ki salah de raha hun. Bhag ja beti bhag ja!’ It was so hilarious!

Another kind of love is for the motherland. Not even trying to go to ‘Border’ or LOC, ‘Dr Kotnis ki amar kahani’ has a flavour exceptional! In “Aman” Rajendra Kumar is in Japan to help the people affected by the atomic explosions. A rich heiress falls for him . He is about to get married but a freak explosion causes casualties so he helps them. He loses his eyesight first & later dies. His body is brought back to Palam airport. Along comes his widow, Saira Banu. His old father, Balraj Sahni holds back his tears. There is Bertrand Russell for the first time in a film & Naseeruddin Shah in a minor role but making his debut.

The sacrifice made by people like him is ultimate. We often wonder if the blood flowing in their veins was different from ours? If the blood is composed of the same constituents, where exactly lies the difference? Isn’t it also made of cells & contains hemoglobin? I always wonder. We civilians who are sheltered have only our tears that we own, to shed & feel sorry for them? Can’t we help in our own way? if so what can we do? Think!
