King:The eternal monarch

The long awaited series of Lee Min ho is here. It begins with a lot of blood shed & that really put me off. I love all that is clean, sweet, romantic? yes & subtle. But the later half is better with Minho as the monarch & in search of that girl, whose ID card he possesses. He has no girlfriend & due to the injury inflicted by his uncle on his neck ,he doesn’t like being touched.

Kim Go-eun as the detective is very cute. She dashes a car in the parking lot. The owner is outraged & comes out. Her assistants help to round them up. Innovative way of catching the culprits. She has a funny way of dressing up. The colour co-ordination does not exist. She is on her way back when she comes upon a rider on horseback on the crowded streets of the city. By the time she parks her car he is in the square looking at the statues there, still on the horse back.

Min ho wants a break & rides his horse to the woods. He comes upon the gate of the other world & enters. He finds himself on the crowded street. As the detective approaches him, he realises she is the one. He gets down from the horse. She asks him for his ID. He only stares. Suddenly declares that she is the one he has been searching for last 25 years!

She takes him to the police station for further inquiry. He then puts in his theory of parallel worlds. Albert Einstein had proposed it, it seems this is it!…he muses. She doesn’t believe him & locks him up. In the second episode, she lets him go & he sells his diamond buttons to get money. He hates that he is being ignored & declares that he has decided to make her his queen so that she will never leave his side.

There are murders & some nasty things going on which are not pleasant. So I have concentrated on the main leads story only.I basically see these dramas because I like the cleanliness. If murder or blood is your thing any western drama would do. We also have Hindi or Marathi option, why go for a Korean one?

Min ho after a gap is magnificent. The shows I had seen so far were the old ones. This is brand new & I have to wait for the next episode till friday. But I think that is ok. By then I can imagine what to expect & one episode per week should give me time for more research. After ‘ One spring night’ & ‘When Camellia blooms’ this is the third show which I am watching as soon as it is uploaded on Netflix.

The story looks interesting so lets wait till the weekend & find more. Happy viewing!
