A 2018 drama featuring Kim Kang woo & Uee. It is also called ‘My contracted husband’. Uee is a producer director at a broadcasting station. She is single, in her mid 30s & has a demanding mother & brother. She lives alone & has a cluttered house. To get the position of a married woman she marries Oh Jak du, who lives in a mountain.
This mountain is gifted to her by her loving aunt & it makes things easier for her. Being alone she is providing for the needs of her mother & brother, who are thinking of ways to swindle. There is struggle between city life & rural, being next to nature & also in being independent or working for a living.
The entire film hinges on their developing relationship & how they cope up with the demands of being a couple. When she is stressed & decides to move to the mountains, it makes a sea change to her health & attitude in general. The developing feelings have been shown in a subtle way. Tiding over all the hurdles she chooses to stay away from the city, with her husband.
Yesterday it was Uee’s birthday, so wishing her a happy birthday & a prosperous life ahead. She was nominated but won the couple award with Kim Kang woo for this show. Good showing!
