A 2017 drama with Ji Chang Wook & Nam ji-hyun in the lead. Now this is an actor that people rave about & it was time I watched his show. Yes, he has got that smile which melts hearts. The story is about suspicion & a murder mystery. In the opening sequence, Nam mistakes him as a pervert. She leaves him in the tube train closing the doors, looking helpless.
Predictably she is his new intern. He has been continuously refusing help. As we think that things are falling in place, she becomes the prime suspect as she is in the wrong place at the wrong time.She has newly joined & he has had a not so good experience already.
His professional training comes handy & he keeps an open mind. They work together on the murder mystery that involves a sly Psychopath. On the quest how their pasts are connected.He harbours a trauma involving his parents & his first love. Nam falls for him, who doesn’t reciprocate, but finally she wins him over.
Choi Tae joon, Ji-wook’s lawyer friend, who once was his best friend now is not in his good books.Kwon Nara, Ji-Wook’s ex girlfriend, who tries to win him back no matter what. The Korean awards nomination for Ji-Wook, Nam & Choe Tae for their respective role was as expected.The SBS award was won by Nam Ji-hyun who has really worked hard for it.
Saimdang, memoir of colours was telecasted & shelved due to TRP. Last two episodes were compromised. The back & forth is tedious.I am one of the audience yet to complete it. Some parts are too stretched. The lead actors are not even in a single frame for too long. The malicious duo getting more footage got on my nerves. Why do good people suffer. I understand the heat makes the gold sparkle but what if it’s not gold but a variant & got burnt ? Suspicious partner is light & faster. Story is simple. The pair is too good. Naturally people opted to watch it.
Suspicion is a sentiment often used in films. ‘Shaque’ has all the shadowy elements. Keeps you reverted to the seats. There are upsets too. In ‘Sindoor’ a perfect marriage is destroyed due to suspicion. Shashi Kapoor has this doubt that his wife Jaya Prada is having an affair with Rishi Kapoor, her co-singer on stage. The rage destroys their life. This doubt makes normal living impossible. Another movie, ‘Swarg Narak’ showed two couples & had a thought that the lady of the house is responsible for making or breaking a house. Vinod Mehra gets married with Shabana Azmi ,who gets continuously humiliated by him. She endures. He wonders why?? She answers,’this is my dharma!’ ( obeying such a husband. Life was simple then I suppose. ) He comes to his senses & their relationship improves. On the other hand her friend Moushmi Chatterji gets married to Jeetendra. They have a happy marriage but she is continuously bugging their servant to tell her about her husband’s college. She hears of a pretty teacher & assumes her husband being involved. This teacher, Tanuja, commits suicide due to the (feared!) scandal. Her husband is bereft with grief & tries to fall off a cliff.
Confrontation is the best solution. Life does not come with ready solutions but with pure heart a lot of problems are solved. Always thinking that the problems are there so solution is nearby,needs to be found, un covered. Dealing with the various tangles & finding the way out. Happy quizzing then!
