It is a 2016 drama.Its pace is very comfortable .It has only 16 episodes.It races after the 11th episode.But we all have a thing for melodrama,which takes away the promise.Editing could have helped to make it racy.Its a story of a young girl aspiring to go to college,but is busy doing part-time jobs to help her save some money.Her step mother & sister are ill treating her.Her father is away & unaware of her condition.She is hired by an old man,who is wealthy & needs her to tame his three grandsons.She is to live in a beautiful mansion & complete her mission.
The original story of Cinderella has found a permanent place in our hearts.So many versions & adaptations have been made yet it remains the favourite.In a book stall I happened to pick up a copy of ‘Cinderella Complex’ & found that every girl aspires for that elusive prince.A damsel in distress is a theme that is ingrained in our psyche actually where we need to rescue ourselves is never taught.It needs correction today.In the book,the nursing ( her baby!–as helpless as can be.)author is abandoned by her partner & she reflects on her life & finds she has been too dependent on him.what’s praise worthy is her stance.She shakes up herself & finds a way.A very positive tale that all should read.
This Cinderella finds herself with 3 very handsome,rich men with a clause ,”no dating” & a future for her.She never bargained for falling for the most unlikely candidate.The rough,car mechanic who is always telling her to get lost.Ji woo is smitten but does know how to go about it.From here the story drags.Predictable turns make it a tad slow towards the end,which could have been neater.
Hyun min, the player, here makes her his fake fiance for his grandfather’s fifth wedding & promises money for her role.At that time the story has every thing going.At the event the grandfather notes her fighting spirit & assigns her the mission.The change in their lives should have brought more to the story.Hyun-min’s story with his first love Hye -ji is too stretched.Seo-woo as a singer & finding inspiration in our Cinderella is all too predictable.He has a very positive vibe & carries of his role honestly.
The pair of Hyun min -Hye ji is a typical first love story with the predictable gap.The speed with which Ji-woo clears Hye-ji’s confusion & steers clear of her,showed promise.But he is not as effective in convincing Eun Ha won aka Cinderella that she is the only one for him.Their pair is very cute.Some more work was needed to bring out the best in them.A few scenes make us wanting for more.
Yoon-sung has played the secretary so well.His dilemma when the chairman falls ill is so genuine.In the last frame when he is laughing makes up for all that he worked for.Actually the entire team looks pretty on the lawn enjoying their picnic.All of them look good when they laugh with their perfect teeth & glow on the face.More such moments were required to perk up the mood.
I got to witness so many good stars,ranked very high, in the top 10 bracket of highest paid.Now I know why.A show that introduced a galaxy of stars & none have paused or looked back.Hope to see more of them in future.So happy viewing!
