You are my destiny

A 2014 Korean drama also called as Fated to love you is a show that I watched by fluke. It is a good show. Its Taiwanese version also has the same zing as it is the same . The girl played by Jang na ra with specs looks the same in the Taiwanese version. Only the hero by Jang Hyuk here is unique. He has his unmistakable style.Let me confess here that I had thought it was Kim jae wook initially. Jang Hyuk is loud & tender here.

It is a story about a one night stand but with a difference. She is a post it girl in the office & he is a wealthy industrialist. The night when he wants to propose to his girlfriend Jang Na ra happens to be there.Excess drinks & drinks laced with something–& confusion ensues. On returning back she discovers her pregnancy & runs off to her mother in Jeju island. We move along the sea shore with her. She doesn’t confide with her mother but Jang hyuk happens to visit there to buy some property & it so happens that he recognises her. The moment when he knows about her pregnancy –She has my what??? is so well taken it still remains in my memory.

They enter a marriage of convenience & his granny is happy with the arrangement.Unfortunately she has a miscarriage & she moves out of his house. Her small, sweet snail-like personality has been growing on him & he wishes to have her back. So he offers her a job in his firm so that he can see her from afar.Around this time he has come to know about his neural congenital disease, hence has decided to keep his distance & let her go,grow.

Finally they come to know that they are fated to be with each other. The same pair has one more show which I have yet to see.Jung hyuk is married in real life & has three children but the way he has maintained himself is excellent.here are people who really take their health very seriously. In the opening sequence where a shampoo ad is being filmed he appears bare chested to guide the model appearing in the ad.His laughter, his voice are a part of his forte.

While watching the Taiwanese version I noticed that the hero is good, with boyish charm. The incident when she loses the baby is pathetic. It’s raining & a car is there why isn’t she rushed to the hospital immediately.Love could have been emphasizes without this mishap.Episode 29 is delete worthy. Why are so many episodes devoted to the sidy people,I failed to understand. This I observed in The Perfect match also. How can you hide behind a mask?Does staying apart reinforce the bond between two individuals? If a Jung does exist it should be there come what may???

In What is love also the sequence just before their wedding is unnecessary. If he is a playboy trying to clear his role at his bachelor party was totally not required. The language & sex involved could have been cleaned. In You are my destiny the length could have been curbed. Some of the scenes are identical, but the mother-sister sequences are not in sync with the rest of the plot. The brother-sister sequence in both the versions is ok.Even the names are similar.Daniel to Dylan in Taiwanese version.

I have yet to see Jang hyuk-Jang Na-ra again. The scene where he saves her from the party where people call her “Gold-digger”is inspired. Also the event where she confronts him on stage,in front of audience & professes her love wholeheartedly is a gem.

Hope to see them doing more shows.Happy viewing!
