I had seen Park Min Young in ‘What’s wrong with secretary Kim?’ & liked her. Perfection incarnate.Her carriage perfect, dress immaculate &poise.At the end of first episode she decides to quit her job.Her boss a human but almost a robot, starts wondering what is wrong because she has been there for ages & he cannot accept change.He finds out that she has no social life & hence wishes to quit so she can marry & settle down. He proposes to her & the very first episode ends.Naturally I had to go on to find what happens next because even after identifying the lead there were no pointers.I enjoyed the show & could recognise Park min young in any clip that I came across.
Her private life was not on Netflix then but you tube & soompi gave me many episodes so when Netflix uploaded it I sat & saw all the episodes in a row.Pairing with Kim Jae Wook was the best thing that could happen.She is a curator & he is a director in a museum.She addresses him as director but refers to as ‘Lion’ instead of Ryan –his given name.Ryan Gold comes to Korea from New York where he has lived for years.Their chemistry is phenomenal.I must have seen episodes 11 to 13 several times.
Greatest musical score which carries the story for ward.All are good but I like May be I love you–more than the rest.Park min young dressed as a boy in Sungkyunkwan scandal where she looks so young & fresh.Park yoochun is in ‘Rooftop Prince’ with Han ji min. but opposite Park min young appears older.He has his own style which is evident in both the shows.
Park min young & Kim jae wook were awarded recently for their roles in Her private life.Both were on stage together & walked hand in hand.Park min young spoke in English & Kim jae wook in Korean.His interview recently showed him to be a down to earth person & he said he had been waiting because playing the lead is a responsibility.That he believed in the quality of the role ,not its length.
Temperature of love or Voice show that he can do a variety of characters. Recently saw his Antique which is 1 hr 52 min but the genre is misleading. there is no comedy here.He plays a gay person to hilt .It hits you & hits you hard.The other characters enhance the drama.Most of the drama takes place in the Antique bakery but there is an important flashback which is in flashes.A short but effective depiction.
Park min young is coming in a new drama called I will find you on a beautiful day.Based on a book it is set to premiere on24 Feb 2020. From the trailers launched it is full of promise.Happy viewing!
